So that your genuine faith, which is more valuable than gold that perishes when tested by fire, may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus, the Messiah, is revealed. Then you will receive praise and glory and honor on the Day when Jesus Christ is revealed. Even gold, which can be destroyed, is tested by fire and so your faith, which is much more precious than gold, must also be tested, so that it may endure. Their purpose is to prove that your faith is genuine. This will happen when Jesus Christ appears again. Your faith is more precious than gold, and by passing the test, it gives praise, glory, and honor to God.
